BO CHARGEMAN 11kV CUM FACILITIES OPERATIONS LEAD

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily facilities operations and maintenance activities at the site.
• Take charge of the operation, maintenance and monitoring of 11kV electrical systems, including HT switchgear, transformers, protection systems and associated equipment.
• Ensure electrical systems are operated safely and in accordance with statutory requirements, approved procedures and site safety standards.
• Carry out and supervise switching operations, isolation, restoration and emergency response activities where required.
• Monitor electrical and M&E equipment performance and ensure reliable operation of critical building services.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor preventive maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance (CM) and breakdown response.
• Lead technicians and coordinate specialist contractors and service vendors.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are properly recorded, documented and closed within the required timeframe.
• Monitor equipment condition and identify potential failures or operational risks.
• Coordinate with the client’s facilities/engineering team on daily operational requirements, maintenance activities and improvement works.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, emergencies and critical facility incidents.
• Ensure Permit-to-Work, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), risk assessment and other safety procedures are properly implemented.
• Monitor statutory inspections, testing and certification requirements for electrical and M&E systems.
• Assist in preparation of maintenance reports, operational reports, incident reports and KPI reports.
• Monitor contractors' performance, workmanship and compliance with site requirements.
• Support energy management, reliability improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure housekeeping, safety and site facilities standards are maintained.
• Perform other facilities management duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager/Account Manager.
  

Requirements

• Valid BO Chargeman competency/certification with 11kV authorization recognised by Suruhanjaya Tenaga.
• Certificate/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical/M&E facilities operation and maintenance.
• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, commercial or other critical facilities is highly advantageous.
• Good knowledge of 11kV electrical distribution systems, switchgear, transformers and protection systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety, switching procedures, LOTO and Permit-to-Work systems.
• Able to lead technicians and coordinate contractors/service providers.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and take ownership of site operations.
• Willing to work on standby, shift or emergency call-out arrangements when required.
  

Advantageous

• Experience in semiconductor or high-technology manufacturing facilities.
• Experience managing M&E/IFM operations at a large industrial facility.
• Additional competency in HVAC, mechanical, fire protection or building services.
• Safety-related certification or training.
• Experience in CMMS/facilities management systems.
